Tychonian Soundworks was started in 2007 by two electronic musicians under the monikers Nían and Tycho. Acting upon the maxim “Sequere sonum!“ (i.e. Follow the Sound) they explore shamanic and futuristic soundscapes, occasionly combined with field recordings and often inspired by eclectic and apocryphal influences. Including “music for dreaming concerts“ the Tychonian oevre mostly revolves around organic ambient, chillout, space music, circuit bending and maximized minimalism.
Judging from their track titles the reclusive duo has an affinity to mythology, classicist philology, dubious internet memes, surrealist oil paintings, German umlauts and cheap play on words.
