sommeil artist profiles highlight the raw submissions used to create the sommeil sleep concert remix experiment, an installation which remixes robert rich’s sleep concert using sleep music collected from nearly 100 artists from all over the world.

Andrew Dalio (andrewdalio@gmail.com) is a composer/bass guitarist/synthesist from New Orleans. He studied Composition and Theory under Dr. Jerry Sieg at the University of New Orleans, where he received a BA in 1985.

Since college, Andrew has played a wide variation of styles (from punk rock to psychedelia, to live electronics, to free jazz improv and back). He primarily plays bass guitar, but also performs on electronics (synthesizers, theremins, toys, etc.). He’s performed in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, and Vermont in various projects. Andrew has also released a vinyl EP, CD, cassette, and free downloads.
